Department of Education proposed a civil works upgrade to Braidwood Central School. As the approved Excavation Director, MTS Heritage supervised and directed the test excavation and monitoring with the archaeology team from Navin Officer Heritage Consultants (NOHC). The excavation resulted in the identification of the former Headmaster’s Privy, a former c1859 timber building and a stone lined drain, which were protected from construction impacts. The results of the investigation have been documented in a detailed Excavation Report prepared in accordance with permit conditions.

Responsibilities: Preparation of an Historical Archaeological Research Design and Excavation Report. The supervision and direction of a small team of archaeologists to ensure State significant archaeological deposits and features were exposed and recorded. Provision of advice to NOHC on future management and conservation requirements and preparation of a final detailed Excavation Report.
